Never Off Duty (NOD) is a coastal community–driven nonprofit committed to preventing drownings and advancing public safety through education, innovation, and access. As a registered 501(c)(3), we support both seasoned lifeguards and the next generation of first responders by providing training, resources, and career pathways in lifesaving services.
Our mission is to aid at-risk youth in pursuing careers in First Response through lifeguarding—by first creating an environment where every child can learn to swim. We believe lifesaving skills should be accessible to all, not a privilege for a few.
At the same time, we empower individuals and organizations with cutting-edge water safety techniques, access to high-performance gear, and real-world best practices—ensuring those responsible for protecting lives are fully equipped to do so.
Our vision is simple but powerful: Empowering every child to swim—and avoid accidental drownings.
We proudly partner with municipalities, schools, and sponsors who share our belief that drowning is preventable—and that every life saved begins with access, awareness, and action.
🚨 2025 Lifeguard Scholarship Program
Applications are now open for our Free Lifeguard Job Training Scholarship, available to youth ages 15–21 as part of our Summer 2025 Program. This initiative provides comprehensive lifeguard certification at no cost, helping young people build skills, confidence, and career pathways in aquatic safety.
🌊 Drowning Prevention & Community Outreach
In 2025, NOD has expanded its impact through a multi-pronged drowning prevention campaign:
- Free Swim Lessons for children in underserved coastal communities
- Swim Gear Distribution to ensure every child has access to safe aquatic experiences
- Elementary School Book Donations focused on water safety education
- Outreach Programs that engage families, schools, and local leaders in lifesaving awareness
